Or does it have to say Closed. If the account has not been paid, it is an open collection account. Are they reporting as an installment account or as a collection account? lovebug5
Collection AccountWell, that takes away the violation for reporting as the incorrect account type. As far as the account being open, it is - provided that it hasn't been paid off or sold/charged off.

Fizzle1979
So what should i do for my wifes situation. Do i send a letter to CA or should i do BBB. Experian wont let me dispute no more.I would write EX another letter disputing the tradeline for completness and accuracy. List all data fields that report on your credit report and tell EX you want everyone completed and accurate. Here are the data fields from EQ, EX might be different. Account Number Account Owner Type of Account Term Duration Date Opened Date Reported Date of Last Payment Scheduled Payment Amount Date Major Delinquency First Reported Creditor Classification Charge Off Amount Balloon Payment Amount Date Closed Current Status High Credit Credit Limit Terms Frequency Balance Amount Past Due Actual Payment Amount Date of Last Activity Months Reviewed Activity Description Deferred Payment State Date Balloon Payment Date Type of Loan
Fizzle1979
I think this topic is floating around on a couple different threads. When looking at my CR's it seems that EX is the only one reporting my 2 LVNV accts as installments. TU and EQ show them as collection accounts. If I pursue deletion based on incorrect classification with EX and they delete, what are the chances of it showing up again the next time the CA reports?I'm not sure disputing an account based on it being classified wrong is going to get a delete, but never hurts to try. Also if the account was deleted, I believe the CRA is required to send you a letter before they relist the account. They can not just add the account back without notifying you.
