Jules79
Hi everyone,I have been working to repair my credit since July 2007. Since I began, I have had approximately 11 TLs deleted, some deleted by all 3 CRs... my question is why has my score barely changed? I'm only up about 20 points per CRA. I'm frustrated . Not sure of I'm disputing the wrong things...I started with obvious errors and then tackled collections... any advice or wisdom on this?FAKOS:(as of 12/7/07)TU: 525EX: 513EQ:

Based upon my experience, when I replace negative accounts with positive reporting accounts, my score goes up a bit more.

Next off, depending on the age of the baddies they may not affect your score at all. The older they are, the least impact they will have on your score. If you want a better picture of your credit repair, you may want to invest in getting your Ficos at least every 3 months. Your Fakos could be off by as much as 100 pts so obviously you don't want to go by those. Finally, welcome to the credit repair addiction group. Fairy Enchantress
I agree with both above me.
Jules79
Thanks for the welcome! I guess I'm not replacing the bad with good...I think mostly because I'll die if I get rejected for one more line of credit in my lifetime. I only have one (fairly new) credit card. Otherwise, I've got my student loans and a car loan that is in perfect standing and is about 3 years old. After that I've got two "oldish" charge-offs *(how do I get rid of THOSE buggers??!!) and a few collections left from a serious illness where my credit took the fall. What would you suggest I look at in terms of new credit?Jules
isislc
If you look at the Obtaining CCs section, there are lots of good credit cards to try out. I have a few in my siggy. That section will even give you direct links to do the applications online. Some of the cards can be obtained with Ficos as bad as 550, it all depends on your state and which CR they pull. Donna47129
Hey Jules, welcome! Also, age plays into your score as well, so if you have anything fall off, whether good or bad, it can hurt your score if you don't have much age on your report...go figure... kailix
mine has barely budged either... in April 2007 it was 662, and it's 662 now! the high was 671. Granted I did finance a car, so I guess I should be grateful it didn't go down more! All I want is 680 and it feels impossible!
