Differences between OC – DOLA & Collection TL

Recommended Posts

:)++

Hope I explain this so it makes sense and that I am posting this thread in the correct location….am planning to dispute several collection TL with the CRA's for Truth & Accuracy. I have original cc statements, bank statements and initial CA letters for both CA TL since DOLA & DOFD.

My questions are simple:

1Q – Would my best bet be to contact the CRA’s and request Verification of the below accounts based on Truth & Accuracy?

2Q – How much documentation (copy of cc statement, collection letters, etc) should I include in the DV, if any? How much detail should I give under reason requesting verification?

3Q – Should the letters also include request for verification on accounts (none of the above) that are showing up as having been paid late? Or should I keep to specifics’ per DV letter? After all, the more letters the greater the opportunity for the CRA’s to make a mistake (violation)…but then…perhaps the heavier the request the more time they may take to reply…just thinking.

Details of each CR: (ALL 3 CR's obtained from the freecreditreport.com site)

TU - OC (BofA) list Past Due amount as zero with highest balance of $6,531. Technically, the OC was Nations Bank who merged with BofA.

The Original Creditor is listed as NCO assignee of BofA. The CA’s TL shows the date placed for collection as 1/2006, first collection letter was received in 11/2004 with a balance of $5,145.56. Obviously the account was placed with CA 14 months earlier and each CA letter since the Charge off shows a bigger amount due.

There is no TL from the OC on the CR.

The CA TL shows the date placed for collection as 9/2005, first collection letter was received in 7/2004 with balance of $1,470.81.

On the EQ CR *These TL accounts appear once each, under various headings, for a total of 3-4 times. Those headings are: “Negative Account History”, “Accounts Currently Past Due”, “Accounts Closed” and ** accounts are included in above headings as well as “Other Accounts” heading!!! I’m totally being tattooed here!!!!!!

Note:

NONE of the collection TL’s appear under the “Collections” heading on ANY of the 3 CRA’s.

The DOLA was 8/2003 and the balances were:

BofA: $3,685.36 / Citibank: $1,959.46

There is no OC TL for Citibank account on any of the CR’s.

The only OC in Collections who continues to report is BofA and as mentioned above, the Original OC was Nations Bank who then merged with BofA.

At present, NCO is the only CA that appears on the CR for BofA & Citibank. Although, I have received and continue to receive collection letters, with varying amounts due, from numerous CA’s.

There you have it! I hope I did not put to much info into this request for help.

If you request anything, they will just tell you it is accurate. DV is mostly for CA's.

On old stale accounts like that, I disputed them online and most of them came off. I think I claimed that the dates were wrong and that they were paid off, and most of them ended up deleted, but it was two years ago.

Not everyone agrees, but an online dispute is a good place to start to see what falls off.

OK I did it. Just finished submitting my first on-line dispute for ALL of the above with TU. Said most data on TL's were inaccurate...which is 100% accurate, their ALL wrong!

Will let CIC know when I hear back from THEM.

Thanks for the Help! ::USA::
