Reposession removal

I had a repo in 2004 when my business failed and I am hoping to get it removed entirely. The TL shows a 0$ balance on the big 3 due to the fact that the sale of the car and the subsequent sale of the balance to a collection agency has paid it in full. The TL however has multiple late payments showing on it as well as a CO.

Has anyone had any success with getting similar accounts deleted? The OC is HSBC.

I had one removed a month or two ago, but it wasn't quite the same. I disputed that they had failed to properly notify me after picking the car up and it was all deleted. It was from the middle of 2003, and both the OC and their CA were reporting (almost $14,000).

you say the subsequent sale of the balance....did you pay that to the CA or are they just not reporting? If you have paid, then you may only have the option of begging and pleading a GW letter to who ever is still reporting (am I to understand only the OC is reporting with a Zero bal?)

how long ago was the balance sold?

I am not exactly sure how it played out. This is the first time I have pulled my credit in two years.

From what I can gather it went like this:

Car was repo'd

car sold at auction leaving unpaid balance on the acct.

remaining balance was sold to a JDB leaving a zero balance owed.

I called HSBC and they said I owe nothing and would'nt accept payment even if I wanted them to.

Repos are harder to get removed, because- there is a process that must be followed- by law- and that often presents a nice paper trail. Because so much paperwork goes into a repo, many reputable auto lenders keep fairly good records.

If you can prove the process was not followed correctly, then you may have a shot at getting the TL removed.

Do a search for the repossession process- I think someone posted it a while back.
