Federal Pacific Credit Company calling my family members

I got two phone calls each from my father and my brother saying they were getting rude voice mails from a company saying that I owed a debt and that they needed to get me to pay, pay for me, or I could be getting sued or end up in jail. Here's the funn thing- they were harrassing them before they ever attempted to contact me once. I just got a letting in the mail this weekend- about a month after they first called my parents. It's the regular "your account has been assigned to us and I have 30 days to pauy" blah, blah letter. I looked around on-line and it's quite obvious that they are nothign more than a junk debt collector causing trouble.

Here's my question: do I send them a letter saying I know it's illegal for them to be harrassing my family, asking them to validate, etc., etc., do I look into sueing them for harrassing my family (how would I do this) or do I just ignore the letter?

Thanks for the help.

Did they tell your father / and brother that this was regarding a debt (if they did, that's violation 1). Saying that they would get you arrested is violation 2 (civil matters have no jail time, hense OJ Simpson). Threatening arrest is a legal action they is not possible, therefore a violation. Send them a DV letter and clearly inform them of your address (no phone number). Tell them that you are putting them on notice of your address and any further contact with anyone else is considered harassment.
