hopelesscred
I wanted to report my experience with the Oasis program. In September I decided to pay off my 15+ year CO with Amex. I called Amex and said that I wanted to join . I was given one month the pay off the $745 BAL, and 30 days later I was sent a letter confirming my acceptance into the program. Last week while I was traveling, I received my $500 CL Oasis card and this is the cool part of it..Amex added the old TL as: CLOSED and PAID as agreed giving me an instant history boost on EQ (yet to report on EX and TU) xdancexNo fico change yet but so far so good with Amex and I highly recommend the program. Positives.New TLHistory boostNew act with NO INQChance to get back with a prime lender Negs (but with my scores who is complaining?)22% interest rate500 CL that will never increase
Fizzle1979
I think it's a good thing for you. I recently got my AMEX Blue Cash, my first AMEX product, and my rate is 17%. So I don't think yours is too bad.

The rats reported my individual proceeds that were done on the same visit as three different bills. One at $45, one at $15 and the other at $12. All in 2002. I'm about to sue them for other stuff and once I'm done with that, have cleared my report and have some of their money in my pocket I'll go for AMEX. conner
I'm still waiting to get my first shot with AMEX. I'm scurred to apply.Im scuuured too! And even more so now that I know they use Experian. That is by far my worst report becasue they don't want to let go of ANYTHING for me...Im working on them now. I have gotten all my collection accounts off all 3 and now am working on paying off 2 charge offs & a stupid Presidio account removed hopefully... after that then I'll apply for the Amex. hopelesscred
EX is also my worst....thankfully most of my remaining baddies will fall off by themselves in 12-14 months. I have 2 negs that are less than 2 years old and they (one is crap 1) are killing my scores...once removed I should jump to the high 600's or low
hopelesscred
I wanted to provide an update on the OASIS program.it appears that AMEX will review your act at six mos and if you dont meet certain credit criteria, the Oasis act will be cancelled. Some of the acts will be allowed to remain open for another 6 mos and at which time you will be reviewed again....if you dont meed their guidelines, your optima card will be cancelled. I have been quite busy, so I've taken a hiatus from figthing off my remaining baddies...In any case...a CA recently placed a hard INQ on EX--I immediately DV'ed and EX is frozen. I am in the 30 day wait period.
