Placement information?

Recommended Posts

I sent a letter requesting debt validation. What I got back was a letter telling me -- "enclosed please find verification of debt consisting of placement information"

The enclosure is merely a sheet of paper with the name of the credit card, the date I got the card and the date of last payment, etc.

What is "placement information"?

Obviously their definition of "placement information" is the one sheet of paper with the information that you described above. Was your DV timely or untimely?

Could placement information be initial assignment to a CA? Is this reported on your CR's? Any more info you can give?

This sheet of paper is a form with a claim date. That date appears to be the date the account was purchased by this law firm/DC's.

Yes, the debt is on my CR. This credit card had two names on the original acct. Mine and another person. The other person is in the process of filing bankruptcy so now the DC's are coming after me. I don't have the money to pay them -- or to pay an attorney to file bankruptcy.

I asked them for validation and clearly what they sent me was verification. Should I send them another letter and spell out what I want?

I have to do some more searching to find the difference between verification and validation so I can be specific when I write back to them.
