justincase
My wife and I just received her Chex Systems annual report and noticed that there is an inquiriy from W&A on 3/6/07. Are they allowed to to peep into my wife's file? We have no accounts owed that are outstanding to anyone let alone these low life's. Should we dispute it or just let it slide it's the only thing on her report. Thought only banks, credit unions, etc. used if you try to open checking account at a financial institution. Thought only banks, credit unions, etc. used if you try to open checking account at a financial institution.Whether it's a CRA defined under §603(f) or a Specialty CRA defined under §603(w), they are still subject to the FCRA.If there's a non-PP INQ, you can dispute with CRA--although they aren't allowed to delete it, by law.It could be recoded as a soft INQ, but I don't know that the Specialty CRAs make that distinction. You can sue over a non-PP INQ.However, I cannot see where an INQ on ChexSystems is hurting you, at all. FICO doesn't score their reports.
justincase
Thanx! You are right it doesn't affect her FICO which is great. Called W&A today to get to the bottom of things and let them know about the info you gave me on non-PP INQ, they admitted to making an error and will send us a letter in writing requesting Chex Systems delete that inquirey. Called Chex Systems and they said until they get letter from W&A then will be removed. Called W&A back and asked could they fax letter to us and Chex Systems today and the lady I spoke with kindley did so. Chex Systems said their is no such thing with them as soft vs. hard INQ. if INQ was requested in error they remove if verified it stays. Thanks for you help and insight (S.O.S.W.) !!!!
