Nope. I just called and disputed it with Experian.

Exactly what did you say to them that led them to believe it was fraud.

and on another note: Stop Talking To Them On The Phone.

I can assure you they have your entire conversation recorded and chances are without you remembering you probably made some statement slightly hinted something of fraud that triggered them to send the fraud responce letter.

To those that read this post, this is a great example of why you never, ever talk to the CRA, or CA's on a telephone.

Whatever dude. Don't even try to talk down to me and try to make an example out of me. I disputed as not mine. Also, I'd like to point out in 2 months, I've gotten 16 deletes, so I think I'm pretty good at doing this. When I get the "item already disputed letter, yelling seems to help." Now move along and make yourself important in some other thread.

It's hot air. A LOT of creditors are doing this now. It's a pro-active scare tactic. They think simply because you're disputing the account then it MUST be fraud. It's BS. I have received a few of those myself, one of them (Chase I think it was) actually wanted me to physically sign off that the account was mine! lol I would not answer that letter. Search around the site, this sort of thing has been posted about often every now and then....

Not so sure i would say scare tactic. The question I would ask, is when you disputed with the CRA, did you say not mine? I have also noticied this response being posted frequently. I suspect it is the latest CA response tactic, or ploy if you will, to a not mine dispute with a CRA.

Yes, and if you dispute as "not mine" over the phone, they classify it as being fraud. If it's on your CR, and you say it's not yours, what else is left? There are only so many codes that exist to kick off an investigation. Calling a CRA is the dumbest thing you can do (I know, I used to work for TU).

When you call the CRA, your phone call is monitored by a supervisor. It's much, much different than writing a letter to dispute (they are not monitored).

That being said, I hope HSBC nails you on this one. Way to be be respectful to people trying to help you.

Whats left? How about a mistake ? I had 2 accounts that were not mine reported on my CR. Was a pain in the xshakeitx to get removed because of there fraud BS. Must send police report to have deleted? Now thats the dumbest thing. Both were from Chase, They had my account mixed with 2 others. They were good TL's so why would I have wanted them removed if it was fraud! Took 2 months for the matter to be solved.

Basically, I told the guy on the phone "this account isnt mine. I want you to re-investigate because I keep getting the we refuse to re-investigate letter when I write a dispute. He was said what is the reason, I said it isn't my account.

To the guy that used to work for the CRA, I could respond nasty to your comment but because it's the Holidays, I'll be nice.

Your information doesn't have to be stolen for something to be considered fraud. A mistake is fraud. Anything on your report that truly doesn't belong to you is fraud.
