nolove4collections
I know when your out of the 30day window for a collection. If you send a DV Letter they dont have to respond. But they do have to put disputed by Consumer on your Credit Report. My question is how do you catch them on this Violation do you pull a new credit report everyday and make a copy of it if they did not put Consumer disputes. Or is there some kind of time period for a collection to put it on there. And my second question is to catch a CA on this violation do i have to do the 1-2 punch or can i just flat out send a DV letter to the CA. Any answers out there? direred
623(a) isn't privately actionable, that's why it's so frequently violated. No one enforces it.

savymicheal
Unfortunately this kind of violation is not enforced so no this simple yet real violation is not worth you attempting to sue. The best you can do is to add a statement on your credit report, yes you can do this. And explain your side!!But keep it simple, your only allowed 100 words!! LadynRed
Unfortunately, such statements mean NOTHING to creditors, totally ignored, and are therefore a wasted effort.
Rick9972
However it is a great violation to add to others when you sue to stack the deck. By itself really means nothing, but when combined shows a shamefull disregard for the law.
