thecollectionagent
I have a account that was never mind for a libary book in Sac, CA.I tried contacting them they said if i did not fill out a police report I will have to pay it. They sent it to UNIQUE NATIONAL COLLECTIONS. I disputed the account on EX several times even as Identity theft and they keep validating it. they even put under the trade line Account information disputed by consumer (Meets requirement of the Fair Credit Reporting Act). Now EX says I can not dispute it. Also when I contacted UNIQUE NATIONAL COLLECTIONS to validate it I was told they are not able to do that contact the sac libary and if I would like to pay it please pay the libary. HAs any one else dealt with them?also what does Account information disputed by consumer (Meets requirement of the Fair Credit Reporting Act) when they put it on the trade line
myscoresawful
I would advise you to send a request for an investigation of the account to the Sac library. They must investigate the information they have on file that lead them to contact you for the debt. I don't know of any library that sets up an account without a signature card, etc. Have you ever lived in this area? If not, explain that in your request to them.I received a few emails from the UCLA library several months ago and just thought it was spam. Finally, I replied to the email and explained that I had NEVER had a library card with them and lived 2K miles away which made it pretty difficult for me to check out books with them and would they please check further into the person they were actually trying to reach.Within 3 days, I had received a very nice email back from them apologizing for their error and that they don't know had happen. As for the CA, never heard of them and my incident never escalated that far.The information being shown Account information disputed by consumer (Meets requirement of the Fair Credit Reporting Act) simply means that they are meeting the dispute requirements set forth by the FCRA for them by placing this notice on your credit report.
