CaliStar
I was curious if anyone has ever sent a good will letter to a bank, and who you sent it to? I have a paid collection and I would like to send them a goodwill letter to get it off my credit report , it is 2 yrs old, there are many names to choose from, I don't want to send it to someone who can't help me at all. Thanks
prettykitty
i'm going 12 rounds with Wachovia and still fighting so u might have to repeat this process (it's just a stamp), or maybe email too.i would address them to (main branch and/or your branch):you could call and get the names, u can check the banks website for the names of key representatives. first roundcustomer service customer service supervisorcustomer service managersecond roundbranch supervisorbranch managerthird round (hopefully never get here)you start emailing the higher upspresceo
rmuse00
I haven't done this myself but you can also do a search for "goodwill" and see many posts on how others used goodwill letters.
Amerikaner83
screw first, second, third rounds.I found the CEO / Prez and send it to them first. 2 for 2 on this method. 0 for 2 on doing it first with someone else. You can also pepper them with GW - Prez, CEO, COO, CSM, (all @ once) you get the idea....

His secretary wrote me a personal letter in response to my fax. With Lovebug's great advice, I find the top dog's name and headquarters address and they will wind it down the chain to whoever they want to answer it. I even fax and/or email them. It is so gratifying.
dandylion9
Were you succesful getting it off? I have a paid charge-off from Union Bank in 2006 that was reported to Chexsystems, and then in Feb of this year, after I called Union Bank to politely request they remove it from Chex systems since I'm looking for a new job, they also reported it to the CRA's. Talk about punishing the consumer. I'm considering a goodwill letter, but the customer service woman I spoke to was adament that "Union Bank does not delete." Did you have any luck?
