cheyenne52883
I am trying to rebuild my credit and wondered if there was any hope in getting a CC with a FAKO of less than 500?
brokeinok
FAKO's are not accurate, without knowing your actual FICO score it is hard to say. I know that most peoples FICO score is usually lower than the FAKO but that doesn't always hold true. myfico.com has a 30 day free trial where you can get the EQ fico score. you should do that then let everyone know what it is, then decide on a cc to try for. cheyenne52883
I got the free 3-in-1 w/ score power from www.equifax.com. I thought it was a FAKO but it looks like it actually is a FICO.My score is really bad... I am ashamed to admit it.424 as of 12-03-2007On the plus side though I have an Imagine card (not the best but oh well) that I have paid on time for 5m and I just got approved for a Crown Jewelers card. brokeinok
Right now, I doubt that you are going to be able to get much more than what you have. Is your score low due to lack of credit history or is there bad stuff on there? If it's bad stuff, you probably need to concentrate on cleaning up your cr's before you do any applying for cards. When I first started credit repair, even before i found this board I was at 425 so welcome to the 400 club! I was well in my 500s when I finally moved in with these crackpots. I would recommend the Bank of America Secured card. You can set your own limit and once you graduate to an unsecured card you get your money back. This would be the way to go and keep punching away at your CR!

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT and I say again DO NOT get anything from First Premier. Total rip off. All the start up fees eat up all the 'available credit' and you end up with $72 avail on a $300 CC. Take all you would pay them in fees and go for the B of A secured or the Orchard. Don't feel bad about the low scores, many of us have been there. It won't get all repaired overnight, so don't get discouraged.P.S. Stay away from First Premier.
