Do a search on "crown jewelers". You will find a huge thread on it. No sense starting a new thread! :)++

Awesome! Yes they do not pull any CRA and is basically a free positive push on your income to debt ratio. Do a search and see how others have used this push to get other CC's.

Good luck! :p

also there's no "card" btw. And it won't report until you buy something, and the down payment is a substantial percentage the first purchase plus hefty shipping and handling.

Most go with the cheapest pair of earrings to get it going. This has a downside too, after a while your credit line will drop to $500 or disappear altogether once paid off and inactive.

Crown Jewelers is mainly used just to help get your credit rating a boost, so that you can get a jump start on getting credit. I started with a CJ card then I was able to get others. Looking at your credit, you have more available credit than most of us beginners. You should try Jareds or Kay Jewelers. Good Luck

I got the card too, I don't know if it made any difference, but it was after I purchased my first item. It doesn't have a magnetic swipe or anything on the back, but has your name and account number on the front, guess it would make things easier if you were ever to walk into their store they could look up your account faster?

anyway, I have only charged an item on it once, about 6 months ago and it was for less than $100. It has been ever since reporting as $1500.00 CL, how ever it did recently stop reporting to EQ, I forget why, but it wasn't just me I don't think, I believe it was a decision between EQ and CJ.

Mine has not reported on EQ, only on TU and EX. Have only bought one item to get the reporting started. I may get something else if need be to keep the TL going. It would be nice to have it on EQ. It would offset some of the old late payments that are showing on some old closed accounts that show only on EQ and not on the other two.

I just received my approval from Crown Jewelers as well; however, I am slightly confused as to their credit limit. It says six payments of $75 month, no down payment, and $1500 credit limit.

Does this mean I should make a purchase of at least $75 to have them begin reporting. I have read that the purchases should be very minimal (cheap-overpriced jewelry ).
