nimrod
Me? Well, about midnight I'll be waking up & cursing the neighbors for settin' off those damn firecrackers again this year! Whatch'all gonna be doin'? Surely you can do better than that.(Remember - children may read this, so watchit!)
rmuse00
We were thinking of doing this again this year. Lasershow/fireworks at the Buckingham fountain in Downtown Chicago. We did it about 2 or 3 years ago and was fun for the kids. Cold but if you bundle up good it's alot of fun!DH just heard this on the radio. The kids love radio disney so we might do this. Zoo Year's Eve Monday, December 31 Rock in the "Zoo" Year with your friends at Brookfield Zoo and Radio Disney. The fun is perfectly fit for family...with live entertainment, crafts, activities, and an early countdown to 8:00 p.m. Kids will have a blast, and get to bed on time! Though I must be getting old. I would prefer a quiet evening all snuggly on the couch with a good movie and a bottle of wine. I'll probably end up right here on CIC anyway, of course with my bottle of wine! nimrod
Hehe. You old fogies. Yeah - we have a big dealio downtown every year. This year they've got some local band called "The Flaming Lips" (???) playing. Dunno nothin' about 'em. Fireworks, kiddie stuff, etc. Dunno why they can't get somebody good like Slim Whitman or Mitch Miller for a sing-along. Well, whatever you do, be sure to take along plenty of bail money! rmuse00
like Slim Whitman or Mitch Miller for a sing-along. Would love to say "mitch who" but unfortunately I know who he is , Dad use to have his albums with the song sheets. I grew up listening to that stuff. c m chase
So how's 2008 looking? Anything exciting happen so far? Yep! Tango laid down "for just a sec" 30 minutes ago and I told him he better be awake at midnight. I had to wake him up 15 minutes ago to remind him he had 15 minutes. He said he was going to take a quick shower. HA. He never even got out of bed to do that! Hehehe! So he's snoring away and I watched the ball drop while playing on CiC. And the wine never even made it out of the fridge. Wow...something even LESS eventful than last year. This doesn't look good for the future.... rmuse00
So he's snoring away and I watched the ball drop while playing on CiC. And the wine never even made it out of the fridge. I actually was at work yesterday got home at 8 pm. It was snowing so we all decided to stay home for the evening. DH made his delish manicotti and we had buns and for dessert, "hot" apple pie. We ate at 11:00 pm! We watched the ball drop and all toasted to the new year. Kids had grape juice in champagne glasses. We then watched an old and I mean OLD movie (1999) DH has been going through his inventory of movies he never sold just for the hell of it. He'd like to watch these before he gets rid of them. The movie of the week was *drumroll please* VIRUS, egads! with Jaime Lee Curtis and Stephen Baldwin Oh and Donald Sutherland. Can ya'll say STUUUPID!!! Even Jamie Lee Curtis said it was the worst movie she acted in. My 8 year old was actually laughing throughout the movie. Last week we watched "Drop Zone" Wesley Snipes and "Havana" with Robert Redford. "Wildhogs" is sounding good to me. Hope all enjoyed their New year! "Twas a computer glitch...apparently the computer was running Windows and there was no backup PC Happy new year!http://blogs.king5.com/archives/2008/01/computer_glitch.html
