WickeDay
I was thinkin' maybe those who have AOL/AIM could get in touch. To prevent spam, it would probly be a bad idea to post our SN's here, but maybe PM's?

stefdr
AOL got me P.O.ed a couple of times. I had AOL several years ago, when I called to cancel when I went to cable internet, the dork I spoke with said he was going to give me 3 free months in case I changed my mind. 6 months later they sent me a bill for 3 months of service. When I called about the bill, Abu said after the 3 free months they started billing again. I told this idiot I cancelled 6 months previously, he could check and see there had been no activity on the account for 6 months and I wasn't paying for an account I'd cancelled.Secondly, when my GF's mother passed away, she'd had an AOL account that was automatically paid out of her checking account. When we called to cancel the account, the rep I spoke with tried to tell GF that she had to transfer the account into her name, than cancel. Yea. Right. Didn't transfer anything. They sent a few more bills, but never got another payment. I finally called them and said again that the account holder was deceased, and played back the recording of the call I'd made to cancel the account originally after they said they had no record of the call. Idiots. AOL is evil. Try to squeeze any payment they can out of you. They used to send a couple of discs in the mail every month with the free 50000 hours of service trying to get me to sign up again. I finally ran one of the discs through my shredder and mailed the pieces back to them. After that they stopped mailing me the stupid discs. isislc
A friend of mine had a similar problem that you did Stef. Her mom passed away and AOL was deducting her account. She called to cancel and told them that she was the Power of Attorney and her mom passed away. They tried to tell her that they couldn't close the account without her mom giving them the ok for her to call. She was like, but she's dead and they said sorry can't help you then. It did eventually get cleared up.

stefdr
I use the messenger built into gmail. Can't have all the others on work computer. Anyone who IM's me is on one of my two gmail accounts.
MasterP_Nice
That's why I'll use meebo at work instead of Trillian. I haven't toyed around with Gmail but I don't think trillian can support it yet. I'd get a gmail account if Trillian/meebo could interface with it.How does the Gmail messenger work?
