If it's been paid, I'd suggest disputing it as "Paid by Insurance".
littlemike
Thats a great start, so should I also DV the CA? Im thinking yes? Thanks
kevin3344
Start with a DV. A paid CO it will do nothing for your score; it's still derogatory. If they come back with proof offer a PFD.

littlemike
Sorry I may have not mentioned that spoke with OC and they recieved the proper insurance information for billing purposes, so they are going to slow mail insurance company the bill. Almost wish I wouldnt have done that, so now when insurance pays there goes my trump card PFD. Looks like my only card to play is the DV/ 1-2 punch with CA and CRA? Help PLThanks for the help everyone. So worse case when insurance pays what do you think point difference will be between now Unpaided 75pts now and paid collection after ins pays. UGHHHHHHH it hurts after you clean it up, what a buch of aholes:evil:
kevin3344
When you DV they have to cease collection until they get verification of the debt. Hopefully the insurance co. will pay it by then. But you always, always, always want to get it in writing that the insurance co. made a mistake and it's really not your bill. That way you can have it removed later on if it comes to that. It will take you a long time to make up that 75pts. not to mention a derogatory item on your CR.Never recieve the bill from doctor, at same home address that was given by medical center! For the newbies, note that it doesn't matter if you receive a bill or not. When your credit is on the line you have to follow up and follow up again to make sure this is taken care of, or stuff like this happens and you end up taking way more time removing it than you would have if you had just had the insurance company pay it. Btw, and don't believe them if they say they'll only update it to "paid". I would threaten to sue if they don't remove it since the insurance co. paid it and it wasn't your bill to begin with. isislc
Brown, don't even talk to the CA. Let the insurance pay their portion and then pay off the balance with the OC. Also ask them to please pull back the account from the CA since there IS insurance involved to pay for it. They CAN pull it back, you just need to ask them to if they are resubmitting the claim. Once all is paid, if it is still on your CRs for the CA, dispute as paid OC before it went to CA. If it still remains, use the 1-2 punch.
