Liora
I am trying to make it simple and not sound like I got it from a form letter.. which I sort of did.. but which I altered to be more simple and sound like a human wrote it.To Whom It May Concern: I am writing this letter in response to the ‘Settlement Opportunity’ letter that you sent me on December 20, 2007. Pursuant to the FDCPA Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 ( your claim is disputed and validation is requested. I respectfully request that your offices provide me with competent evidence that I have a legal obligation to pay you. Please respond to this validation request within 30 days from the date of your receipt of this letter. If the debt can not be validated I ask that all references to this account be deleted and completely removed from my credit file and a copy of such deletion request shall be sent to me immediately. Also during this validation period, please do not take any further action that could be considered detrimental to any of my credit reports. Recovering Attorney
I still believe you should be pointed in your dispute. Why do you dispute it? Not yours? Wrong amount? paid a long time ago? You want them to go away, give them a reason not to bother you. Otherwise, it is a good letter.
