Wow collections just dropped off?

Hello everybody! Today when I went to update my credit reports I got a big WOW when I saw that both of my medical collections had been deleted from Ex. and Eq. I have 2 of them, both with Medical Data Systems, back from 2002/2003, that were not due to come off until like March of 2009, and the other one in Dec. 2009. One was for like $850 and the other for $2300.

I have not touched these things in a long long time, so I don't know why the sudden drop off.....maybe the new year? I'm guessing it will come off TU next, but not sure. I'm actually kind of worried that they might be taking some kind of action maybe. I'm not sure.

What do you guys think? I highly doubt they are just deleting for the fun of it.

If I remember, it was around $800?

Were those two debts past SOL in your state?

Usually, if they were going to sue, or were actively collecting, they'd do their best to keep that collection up there poisoning your report for as long as possible.

When they disappear, it makes me think either they sold the account off, shelved it, accidentally deleted it, etc.

So checked my credit report this morning and my two collections are back on my Experian report. Not yet back on Equifax, but I figure they will be soon. They are really pissing me off.:twisted: I was getting very used to being baddie free! The thing that is making me confused though is that the actual medical work, (went to the E.R. when I was 19 with no health insurance), was actually done in like March or May of 2002. Would that not be the "date opened" or is that just wishful thinking?

The collection agency may have closed the acct in there office and had it deleted. I had that happen to me with nco/99 fin. from a 2004 telephone bill. They were reporting it on my cr, so i sent them a dv and they sent me a letter, saying the acct was closed and it would be removed from my credit report. Thats a good thing, i even called the original creditor, and they had no records.
