JustaTexan
Hello everybody! Today when I went to update my credit reports I got a big WOW when I saw that both of my medical collections had been deleted from Ex. and Eq. I have 2 of them, both with Medical Data Systems, back from 2002/2003, that were not due to come off until like March of 2009, and the other one in Dec. 2009. One was for like $850 and the other for $2300. I have not touched these things in a long long time, so I don't know why the sudden drop off.....maybe the new year? I'm guessing it will come off TU next, but not sure. I'm actually kind of worried that they might be taking some kind of action maybe. I'm not sure. What do you guys think? I highly doubt they are just deleting for the fun of it.
jasen
I've had a collection drop off for no reason before. I'd consider it lucky.
JustaTexan
I'm trying really hard to do that but I just don't know. Was your collection for as much as mine are? And I know that MDS are known for being sticklers....... I hope you are right!
jasen
If I remember, it was around $800?Were those two debts past SOL in your state?Usually, if they were going to sue, or were actively collecting, they'd do their best to keep that collection up there poisoning your report for as long as possible. When they disappear, it makes me think either they sold the account off, shelved it, accidentally deleted it, etc.
YoUrFrIeNdMiKe
i think they are off the case and they are covering their arse by taking everything with them. will it re-appear, no one knows.
JustaTexan
They were updating it every month. The last update was 12/17/07 so they were on top of it. I'm going to just hope they are letting it drop off early. I hope it doesn't pop back up under a different name......ughh. Thanks!
JustaTexan
So checked my credit report this morning and my two collections are back on my Experian report. Not yet back on Equifax, but I figure they will be soon. They are really pissing me off. I was getting very used to being baddie free! The thing that is making me confused though is that the actual medical work, (went to the E.R. when I was 19 with no health insurance), was actually done in like March or May of 2002. Would that not be the "date opened" or is that just wishful thinking?Collection Accounts: Accounts seriously past due MED DATA SYS More about this account >> TransUnion Experian Equifax Original Creditor: MEDICAL CENT Account #: 1227**** 1227**** High Balance: 2357 2357 Date Opened: 03/29/2003 03/01/2003 Date Reported: 12/17/2007 02/15/2008 Balance: 2307 2307 Condition: 12/17/2007 02/01/2008 Responsibility: Individual Individual Remarks: MED DATA SYS More about this account >> TransUnion Experian Equifax Original Creditor: MEDICAL CENT Account #: 1228**** 1228**** High Balance: 846 846 Date Opened: 03/29/2003 03/01/2003 Date Reported: 12/17/2007 02/15/2008 Balance: 821 821 Condition: 12/17/2007 02/01/2008 Responsibility: Individual Individual Remarks:

andrena67
The collection agency may have closed the acct in there office and had it deleted. I had that happen to me with nco/99 fin. from a 2004 telephone bill. They were reporting it on my cr, so i sent them a dv and they sent me a letter, saying the acct was closed and it would be removed from my credit report. Thats a good thing, i even called the original creditor, and they had no records.

JustaTexan
Yeah I guess I did. I got Kay's, Jared's, and JB Robinson. So that's pretty good. I guess I will have to wait another year for them to go away for good...........:twisted:
