baglady215
Hello,I applied through Capital One for an auto loan. Denied, but they forwarded me to Roadloans where I was approved for $25K at 15.74%. Yikes, I know, but it may be the best I can do. EQ FICO is 594. Haven't checked the others in while. Old derogs include a 6.5 year old repo.I plan to refinance once my old derogs fall off in the fall.I have a car in mind at the Nissan dealer. Do you think they can (or will try to) beat my rate? Should I ask them to?
VeVe
If you're interested in a Toyota, you could try them (they work with bad credit, though not sure of the rate you will get). I bought a 2008 car with Toyota in September at 16% (503 FICO), but that's because it would have cost me $2500 to fix my old car (which I thought would be crazy considering it had 125k miles) and I knew I would refinance within 4-5 months after my misreporting student loans got cleaned up. I was approved a few weeks ago with HSBC Auto for 9.xx% (forget the exact number). I'm going to go with them now, and maybe refinance again in a few more months if it's worth it. This refinancing is keeping my monthly payment $ the same, but is reducing the payment time by over one year.
VeVe
Also, car financing inquires supposedly don't affect your score, so wouldn't hurt to check with Nissan. For HSBC, I applied online, was pre-approved, and then spoke to someone on the phone to get the numbers. They somehow did a soft pull, so there's no inquiry on my CR.
Krash
Want my Opinion? I wouldn't buy one right now, if you can wait till fall then once the credit gets better you would get a better rate.. Good luck, also ask them to try soveriegn bank, they gave me a 10%apr with 690 or 670 score and a bk7 and three collections

Should I ask them to?No guarantees, but I bet a dealer could beat RoadLoans.RoadLoans approved me in late November for a max of $15K at 12.24%, but CitiFinancial Auto through CarMax gave me the same amount (max might have even been higher, not sure) at 8.98% in early December. Both pulled EQ, and my current EQ FICO is 637.

Moneedshelp
I think car inqs do count, but when they are within a certain time period, they will count as one inq.
