desabinas
If a CRA responds to a dispute letter by requesting proof of identity (social security card, passport, DL...) is this a stall tactic or do I need to forward that info. I hate to send that in the mail.

2001Badyear
Read something on here, I think from the guy with the eye twitch, that there is a stipulation that they are not required to provide information IF they can not prove you are who you say you are. His idea is to copy license to bottom corner of all his coorispondence and print to those. That way, all their paperwork from you, should they choose to use it, has your identity right on it.Seems smart to me.

desabinas
I sent each of the CRAs a copy of their original letter requesting proof of ID along with copy of my state ID card and a letter including my name and address that I had notarized. Experian just responding by sending the exact same form letter requesting proof. Is what I sent enough?
