n00b
Hi All,So, I recently found a CO with TXU on my CR and disputed through the CRAs. It came back as verified so I called TXU to find out what happened, and I apparently didn't go through all of the correct motions when I left the state a few years back, and the account wasn't closed properly and none of the bills were forwarded to my correct address. They are sending me a copy of my 15-month payment history, and I'm not sure what to do next. My instinct is to try and negotiate payment (minus all of the stupid late fees because they were sending the bills to the wrong place) for a delete, but I feel nervous about sending out that first letter. Is there anyone who has had recent success in negotiating for a delete, especially with TXU or another utility company, who would be willing to read my letter and give me some advice? It's my first one, and I keep chickening out. Thanks in advance!
Amerikaner83
feel free and post it here (minus identifying info, of course) and I'm sure you'll get some of us to read it The thing about utility companies - and anyone else really, once they've been paid - they don't really have the motivation (form a business standpoint) to keep debts on your CR. If you can't get a concrete PFD deal, you cn aalways try and get a backdoor PFD - An NDA agreemnet, or a "if I dispute you won't verify" type of agreement.....writing is best, verbal is OK if you clan't get it in writing.I actually ended up getting two collections deleted by writing to the presidents of the collection agencies involved, after the fact. It just doesn't make sense (again, from a business stand) to keep Tls on your record after they've been paid.
