TTigggers
If anybody has ever had this happen please give me your story.Well today I received an e-mail from orchard it said: As a service to you, and in an effort to protect your Orchard Bank Card Account, we periodically attempt to confirm the authorization of recent transactions on your account. Please take a moment to confirm that all recent transactions made using the above referenced Account were authorized by you.Orchard Bank Card Fraud Prevention DepartmentWhen I called I verified my personal info and security questions. I went on to find out that there was a charge from yesterday for $129.00 which I did not make. The CSR told me that they would have to close the acct and issue me a new one. The Question is how will this look on my credit report? The TL was only about 6 months old. I would hate to start it over again just as my old 1 was starting to show a nice history. How would Orchard Know it was a Fraudulent Purchase? I have made purchases larger than that without question.Just a little confused I have never had anything like this happen before.
TTigggers
They may have been alerted by a merchant. But what would have let the charge go thru?My last purchase was at Crown Jewelers (I paid my down payment)I wonder if they don't have a secure site?I have made thousands of transactions online and never had a problem until now. stefdr
I've had this happen on a couple of my CC's, it was just a random check I think. When CSR closes the account and issues a new card it shouldn't affect the TL. I had 3 fraudulent charges appear on a CC last year, and when I spole to the CSR about it, they deactivated the card and issued me a new one with a new number. It remained the same account with the original account date of the original card.
