I applied for AMEX because my scores went way up, and I really wanted a prime card so I could get rid if First Premier and Rewards660. This is my response:

I have fraud alerts on my reports, is this why? And what in the hell is the "other source" I know, I know, I have to write them for it, but does anyone have any ideas?

Yep, I sure did. Well, I guess it wouldn't be completely accurate because they asked for total household income, and they couldn't verify that through only MY employer, they'd have to contact the State of Missouri about Child Support and my Husbands employer too. So I don't think that's it.

Did you put the $ amount of the additional income and it's source?

Alimony, child support, or separate maintenance need not be revealed if you do not wish to rely on it.

Annual Household Income:* $ .00 Income Source:Choose One

Well the options are Retired, Employed, Spouse, Unemployed, Self employed and since you can only choose 1 I chose employed, figuring they would call if they needed additional information. Maybe that's what it was? I might try to call them tomorrow.

If they can't verify your info because of a fraud alert, I would say that is the problem...they may have used lexus/nexus or some other smaller CRA, that you have not cleaned up...

I bet you're right Whocares, I noticed just now a pull from Innovis??? Is that right? But it says in the letter they didn't use a CRA, so is Innovis not a CRA?

And yet they pulled my EX report??????

So you put employed, but put your salary, plus your husband's salary, plus child support you receive? If yes, and they checked your employment, it looks like the number you put for your salary is grossly inflated.

Usually there's a place for your income, then a separate place for additional income amount, and then it asks for the source of the additional income.

Innovis is an information clearing house...not technically a CRA...they could have pulled choice point too...
