Moneedshelp
have had a Walmart card with low credit limit for a few months. I have been using it quite often then make a payment a few days later. Well in last month I made 3 payments and kept wondering why it only said I have $14 available credit for about a week now.Called today and they put my last payment on hold because I had made the 3other payments within the month. CR released the funds. Has this happened to anyone else? I guess you can not do a charge/pay/charge/pay the same as with the target card. While I am happy to have it, the wallyworld card limit is very low, so I can charge it up just getting half of my usual list. CR said I can request cli after 6 months
ShortBus
That'll happen if you pay a card multiple times within a single billing cycle. Happened to me with a Cap1 card once. It's a fraud thing since what'll happen is a bad guy will pay off a card with bogus checks to free up the available credit. Then they run up the balance again before the bank notices the bad checks. Cap1 lifted the hold by three-way calling me and my bank. Once the teller confirmed that I had enough money to cover the payment in my account, Cap1 released the hold.

isislc
They either do that or they put a hold of 7-10 business days on your account. I've been paying my Carnival Miles card more than once a month for large amounts of money and they have put the hold on it. Each time, I don't have a problem with it I can understand. CleverCynic
I haven't had any problems with Carnival and multiple payments... yet... but I don't use paper checks, all ACH online.

I understand why they would do it.

pointman
I think Short Bus is right...I don't have a WallyWorld card yet, but here's what my Shell Gas card says about multiple payments;"You can make up to 4 Payments in a month, but only 1 per day."

I'll have to watch that when making multiple payments. I was just trying to employ the practice frequently used with target to get CLI. Charge/pay/charge/pay. I think I'll sock drawer the walmart card. Credit limit is so low, I can't help but run it up everytime I use it.
