Lilolas
Hi All,In a few months, I will be applying for student loans for law school. My credit is fair, the one flaw is that I don't have much positive credit history...I once heard that one's credit score is not taken into account when getting approved for student loans (ie...Grad Plus loan)...what do student loan lenders look at? I'm pretty sure I will be able to get the federal student loan...put w/ going to school in DC, I know it will not be enough...any advice would be greatly appreciated...thx!! CleverCynic
GradPlus only requires "no adverse credit". They're basically looking for anything that is not currently caught up or any collections in excess of $500. If there is anything in collections higher than that amount, you can still get the loan by showing proof that you have entered back into a payment arrangement with the collector.
