fairpractice
A few months ago I started the process of cleaning up my credit with Experian which I had hoped would trickle down. This did not work as well as I thought but did to some extent. I basically just disputed the item with Experian through their website by saying "this is not my debt". To my surprise some were removed. I can't help but think there is a better way to go about it. I understand there are form letters but that it isn't good to use them. In looking at the flowchart at http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/debt_validation_workflow.shtml I see that I might have had a better way to dispute them. My debts are all unsecured and not over $3,000. So the flowchart gives two paths (one for when the original creditor is involved, and one for when a collection agency is involved). So I would like to come up with the best of those two letters and send them certified. Focusing on those top two initial letters, where are the best 'samples' of those for me to modify? Even better, what information do those letters need to contain. What can I ask for. Note that I am only looking at the top two boxes of the flowchart http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/debt_validation_workflow.shtml and that is all I am concerned about at this stage. Thanks for any assistance.
x-ray
The flow chart shows the process of disputing with CRA and CA.If you are dealing with OC, there is a different set up. http://www.creditinfocenter.com/repair/DisputingWithOriginalCreditor.shtmlAre you disputing with CA or OC?
