For me they pulled TU, which wasn't so bad. It's my middle score. I hate it when they pull EX. TU with 4 collections is better than EX with only one. I hate EX!!! xxHellxx::censored::

i hope they pull EQ ex and tu are a mess still!!!

Yeah EQ has been pretty cooperative for me. I only have one derogatory on there. EX has 7 and TU has 6. The only difference now between TU and EX is the CA accounts. EX has a few old settled charge-off cards that will drop off this year, so I'm willing to ride them out. And EX is reporting 2 unsettled default student loans, TU and EQ both dropped them. If I could get the 4 collection accounts off TU and the two incorrectly reporting student loans and 1 collection account off EX, the other stuff is old, paid off and due to fall off. The thing that's looking bad for me is the collection accounts and the incorrect loans.

Also, I'm at about 650 on EQ and they aren't reporting my two AU accounts. I'd love to see what it would be if they reported those accounts. When the AU accounts hit TU it bumped up my score 50 points, only 25 for EX (of course).

My way in was Circuit City. They gave me a $1500 Circuit City Chase card with 18 months 0%apr when I bought a laptop in the store. It was 9 months after my BK7 discharge! Score was in the mid 600s then.

Chase then followed it up last year by granting me a $6000 Starbucks Chase card. I applied to get 25 free StarBUCKS (which I never received) and was shocked at the generous limit. At that point, I was just shy of 3 years post-BK7.

Good luck.

Did they pull TU for you as well?? Damn TU I wish they'd update and ditch a couple of those CAs. Satan (Experian) already has.

According to the letter in the mail.. I am pre-approved!!!

(for those of you that don't get the joke.. I am only 34)

My daddy got me an AARP card a couple of years early. It came in handy when we went out to Thanksgiving dinner. There was a senior's special and I said to the waitress, "well, I'll admit to being old" and pulled out my AARP card. Since I appeared to be the youngest person at the table she gave the special price to all of us. My dad and his girlfriend, well that makes sense (73 and 65, respectively), but my sister is only 43!!! I was paying for the meal, so I didn't mind saving the extra $2.50/person. What can I say, I'm cheap.

I looked at www.whogavemecredit.com and found that most people that were being approved had pretty decent FICO's...Upper 600's-700's. That's one of the biggest reasons why I never applied for a card with them. They scare me! :)

Yeah, they were the only "excellent credit" people who gave me a card. Everyone else (Citi, BOA, WaMu) kicked me to the curb. And when I tried to get a 2nd Chase card through Amazon, the answer was no. They must have been having some drunken party the weekend they approved me!!

I do get temp cards from AARP asking me to join and everything. Some mailing list somewhere I am older than I really am...
Me too. I have been getting these mailings for years and I am only 30 years old. I have been stuffing the AARP enclosed prepaid envelope to the gills with about a week's worth of junk mail and then mailing it back to them on their tab with a request that they remove me from their mailings. If I can't get them to stop filling my mailbox then at least I can try to bankrupt the b*stards.

I do have some gray hair. but I don't look old enough to be a member. I do get temp cards from AARP asking me to join and everything. Some mailing list somewhere I am older than I really am...

Next time I go to Ihop I am going to get the AAA and AARP discount!!!

That's funny because I'm in my late 40s (I look younger) and I've never gotten any AARP mailings. The only way I got a card is because my dad was talking to them and they asked if he needed a card for anyone else. He got one for me, the no. 1 daughter and renowned cheapskate. My fiancee who is over 50, well the week he turned 50 he started getting the AARP letters. Someone was obviously checking. Now I'm a member and he's not, even though he's 4 years older.

P.S. Generally the AAA discount is better than the AARP. Usually they won't let you take both.

I have save a TON with AAA.. And it was free with my car.

Not sure I would give people a membership with a company known for it's towing operations with a used car. But hey, what ever works :)

I own a 17 year old Chrysler New Yorker. Good car, but I've had to have it towed a couple of times, so the AAA membership is worth for both me and the DF (I pay extra to cover him).

Seriously, I love this car. I paid $1153 for it almost three years ago and it's been really no trouble. Just brakes, tires and the annual inspection (in PA this costs about a couple hundred dollars, 'cause they always find things that "have to be fixed for safety"). Probably in the three years I've owned this car I've spent less than $2500 on repairs. Not too shabby for a car with 183K on it. And about $600 of that was from some bastich trying to steal it and tearing out the ignition completely, which led to electrical issues.
