merkurfan
I recently sold my van (a few months ago) I told the buyer it would take chase a while to process the pay off and send me the lein card..Today, I do my update and my address on EX is the new owner of the vans address.. I call chase to raise heck. I FINELY got all the wrong addresses off EX, I didn't need or want a new one.Chase tells me that they placed it on MY account so that the lein release would be sent to MY new address. I inform them that I do not live there, never have. And OBW where is my pay off statement? "oh, we sent it to the address on your account" I push further.. They sent not only my pay off, but a COMPLETE accounting of the account to the new owner of the van complete with my SSN number and everything!Oddly, when you call them it says their privacy policy has changed and you need to verifiy your SSN and everything before they will talk to you. The new owner did not have my SSN until chase mailed it to them.Chase has promised to have the address removed from my EX report. We'll see if they actually do. I am not sure what to do with the new owners of the van and my SSN issue. I want to trust them, but appaerently they went right to chase and started troubles over the lien release. It's not my fault Chase waits 4 weeks after getting final payment to actually close out the account and send out the lein card. (they have not even mailed it yet, and it's been 90 days). Fizzle1979
I mailed capital one with an address change and they started sending me some other guys monthly statements and applications for new credit. I called them and asked them, they just told me to distory the mail. Then, they sent more mail. I called them back and they said that I needed to not open the mail and put RETURN TO SENDER on the mail. I said but it says MY NAME on it. Idiots! Rick9972
I read in a case that they are allowed to pull 1 time after an account is PIF to verify that the information being reported to CRA is accurate. The logical next step is that they would be allowed to pull again if the information being reported was not accurate.
merkurfan
I really wish they would write the law to say what could be a hard and a soft. A hard pull is completely unjustified.

Real good when they give all your info to a stranger.
