shanam
Collection agency has consistently pulled my credit for 10 consecutive months. Twice in one month alone. Are these considered hard credit pulls? and is it legal and/or permissible? Please help its killing my credit score.
thegame26
Pulling once month isn't excessive I don't think. I have credit cards with wamu and target and they pull every month. Having said that, depending on what they are collecting for they might not be legal. Unless it was related to a credit transaction they can't pull your credit accoring to a recent court decision. kevin3344
Are these considered hard credit pulls?Only your credit report can tell you if they are hard pulls or not. If they are under the "only inquiries seen by you" section they are soft pulls.

jasen
I think you could easily argue that monthly hard pulls are a deliberate attempt to poison the consumer's credit.
shanam
I am assuming these are hard credit pulls by the collection agency. Experien Credit Report titles is as "Request Viewed By Others" The big question, is there a limit to the amount of pulls by the collection agency? Are there any policies or laws in place to protect the consumer from this exploitation of power of credit pulls? Even if this account is in dispute?
