About the 1-2 punch: Does it really stop CA's from reporting info on credit reports?

Happy New Year Everyone!

It's now been well over 30 days that I used the 1-2 punch to try and get 6 of my TL's deleted. I disputed all 6 with the CRA's while also sending DV letters to the CA's. Only 1 TL got deleted, all the other 5 came back "updated and verified" by all 3 CRA's. As far as the DV's go, I still have not received any validation whatsoever from any of the CA's.

Here is my question: When sending the DV letters, I always included the following sentence: Until you provide me with proper validation of this debt, you are not allowed to pursue any collection activities, including reporting this information on any of my credit reports.

Is this a true statement?? And if so, why do the CA's continue to report info that has not been validated? How does one proceed to get the TL's deleted from the credit reports? Should I just write back the CRA's and explain that the CA's have not validated the debt's in the TL's, and therefore they must be deleted?

Any help and advice would be very appreciated--thanks a lot!XhelpX

Yes, they must cease all collection activities until they provide validation. They must also mark each TL as "disputed" while they investigate. They don't do it because they are either ignorant of the law or simply don't care. Use the violation(s) as leverage to remove the TL.
