It seems to me that's their "stall" tactic to give themselves more time- I'm only speculating...However, I've seen on here where others sent the info that TU wanted in another CMRRR letter. hackbragg
:confused:First of all I went through the website to get my free yearly credit report and TransUnion was the only one that made me send in paper work to get it. Once I finally recived a reply back from them they tell me they can find my report and asking for more verification I.E utility bill and DL. Should I do this? Its been about 12 days since they wrote the letter.
fatherof3
I had the same thing with EQ. I think it is thier way of getting more info on you. I did not send DL. I sent them copies of utilty bills. They are a pain in the arse.
kb9tbq
You can send them copy of the drivers license just mark out the dl # they just want to see a picture of you. And a copy of your social security number, if you are going to dispute you should use your full social security number and not expect them to know it by just giving last 4 digits. hackbragg
They are using stall tatics on me i guess. I recived a letter from them today asking for more ID. I really dont get it im just trying to get what is entitled to me. Can some one give me pointers on if my respose letter is the correct action to take? Trans Union P.O BOX 1000CHESTER, PA 19022-10009/06/2008Dear Credit Bureau,According to The Fair Credit Reporting Act, “In general, All consumer reporting agencies described in subsections (p) and (w) of section 603 shall make all disclosures pursuant to section 609 once during any 12-month period upon request of the consumer and without charge to the consumer.” I have now twice requested my report be provided to me (once online and once via return receipt mail). I have also provided adequate identification documents with both requests. Under The Fair Credit Reporting Act your company has 15 days to provide me with my report. I do not appreciate the stall tactics that your company is using against me. I just wish to be provided the information that I am entitled too. Please provide me with this information so that I will be able to confirm the accuracy of the information on my report. I am including the information in which you requested the third and final time. I have also included a signed copy of the last letter requesting my report. Sincerely, enclosures
Denita
If it were me, rather than use the terminlogy "stall tactics" in your letter, I would put in actual dates: eg, ordered your report on line xx/xx/xx and responded to your request for additional info xx/xx/xx. It has now been x days. That sort of very specific timeline to show how long it has been since you have been trying to get your report.
hackbragg
Awsome thanks for the input. I am sending the letter off tomorrow. If its this hard to just get my report think how hard it is going to be to correct any incorrect information if there is any (which I am sure there will be).
