Hi there. I'm new to this and trying to find out how best to handle this situation.

Basically, I had a card with Cap One back in 99. Their TL is on all 3 CR saying that the account is charged off with DOFD 11/2003. Credit limit was $200 and NCO is now saying I owe $1400 (they sent me a letter in late December; I received it the 20th). Made the mistake of speaking to them on the phone last night before I came upon this informative website.

I live in FL, and the SOL is 4 yrs. Since Cap One is on my CR and not NCO, what should I do? Do I send DVs to both Cap One and NCO? Many thanks in advance for your assistance!

I would just DV NCO and dispute the accounts with the CRA's.

excellent. Thanks! I also saw on one of the other posts that others have contacted NCO via email to great success. Perhaps I'll email in addition to the cert. letter (since I'm close to the 30 period expiring). They've also had them remove the TL from their CRs. Can NCO get the TL taken off my report even though it's listed on the CR as Cap One?
