lundungurl
Hi, I'm new to all this and am very thankful to this site for the great info. I'm getting ready to mail 3 letters to the 3 credit bureau's disputing some items that are on my credit reports. I was wondering if someone can review this and make sure it's worded properly. Each letter is a bit different because some items are reported and others aren't. Also, the employer that they have listed for me, I haven't worked for since 2001. I'm wondering if it's common for them not to update this information?FAKO 1-14-08TU 529 EQ 516 EX
whocares
First, the letter sounds very unfriendly...try a softer approach. After applying for a loan and being denied, I obtained a copy of my credit report. I noticed several inaccuracies as listed below. (Sometimes the less said the better) You don't want it to sound like your trying to repair your credit...so just list the inaccuraciesI have no knowledge of the following accountsCivil Judgment, XXXXXX County Circuit Court, date filed 09/27/2001 Reference #XXXXXXXX amount owed $660.00 Do this one first and save the rest till this one comes back(I actually think your trying to put too much NOT MINE in one letter)accnt XXXXXXXXX 5/1/2002 $206.00accnt XXXXXXXX 1/1/2006 $331.00 Allianceoneaccnt XXXXXXXXX 8/1/2002 $1,730.00 Fidelity Coll svc ORThe following two items are the same account, reported twice on my credit report with different accnt numbers:517800732496XXXX 9/1/2004 $298.00 First Premier517800732421XXXX 9/1/2004 First Premier reported stolen In addition, please remove the following item as it is 11 1/2 years old:accnt XXXXXX 10/1/1996 Wells Fargo education loan paid (when were the student loans paid off? they will remain on your report for 10 years after paid off) so if they have been paid off in the last 10 years...don't bother to dispute them.BTW Good luck, keep it simple...
