Hi Eveyone,

I disputed items on my credit report but experian, and equifax sent me a letter to send proof of identity. I sent my DL,SS Card and copy of the front page of my report. I would like to know is this being done on purpose to slow down the process. I would appreciate your input.

Did you send a validation letter to the CRA? You should send a dispute letter to those guys and DV to the CA's... The CRA's are not required to validate your debt, only ensure it's accuracy...

I just sent a regular dispute to the credit CRA's a about 2 weeks ago. I will send a DV to the CA's this week. I should of used the 1-2 punch a little earlier.

You can't attempt a DV till the results come back from the CRAs. You're hoping for either the delete or catching them if they verify with the CRAs but refuse to validate with you. Otherwise you're just wasting a DV.

Ok so i must wait for the results to come back first, then attemt DV with CA.

I sent a DV with the OC, and the CA in july or august of 2007, that was before i found this site. I only got a response from one of my creditors.
