brokeinok
At the bottom of my petition, it is stamped "Attorney's Lein Claimed". What does this mean exactly?
jq26
Have you paid your attorney in full? I take it you have not. The attorney is just staking his priority claim on any property to ensure that he/she is paid for services rendered. If you have paid in full, then the attorney has no right to place a lien on your property as you owe them nothing.
Rick9972
It was my understanding that you were filing Pro Se. Who stamped the Lein on your complaint?
brokeinok
This isn't my attorney, it was stamped by the attorney for the plaintiff.... think he's worried about them paying him?
jq26
I assumed it was a BK petition and it was your attorney. This other attorney lacks privity, no?
brokeinok
no it isn't a BK petition, i'm the defendant. The doctrine of privity in contract law provides that a contract cannot confer rights or impose obligations arising under it on any person or agent except the parties to it. So are you saying he's worried that the Plaintiff he's representing might not pay him?
