hopefull
I have a mark on Chexsystems with Citizens Bank. However, I've been with my current bank (Harleysville National Bank) for over a year now. When I opened the account it was around the same time Citizens was about to report to Chexsystems so they didn't see it when they opened it for me.I only have one account with Harleysville and that's a checking account. I want to use the first one for bills, open a second checking account for spending money and open a savings account. Reason being is my new job offers to split up and direct deposit paychecks in up to three different accounts. Since I now have a mark with Checksystems will this stop them from giving me more accounts even though I already have one? I want to be able to better save money, pay bills and eventually pay Citiizens so that blemish goes away.
isislc
You should have no problem opening a savings account but if you ask for another checking account they may just find out about the Chexsystems and close everything. You would be better off going to another bank that offers 2nd chance checking. I know UsBank has 2nd chance checking, you may want to try to open it up with them. ShortBus
Have you considered trying to get the Chexsys black mark deleted by working it like a CR?
hopefull
Thanks! I haven't done anything with Chexsys yet. Is there any second chance banking near me?I thought that I've seen US Banks in either Upper Montgomery Co (like near the Montgomery Mall) or in Delaware Co (on Baltimore Pike east of the Springfield Mall), but I went on their website and nothing came up.Does anyone know of another second chance bank? isislc
Chexsystems is a pretty tough nut to crack but if you can get them deleted from your report that would be better. I know that they delete and then repost the account if they do get a response AFTER the 30 days. They are nasty to deal with. As for other banks, I know Amcore does. Also if you have a Bank of America credit card, you can get a checking account with them too. There are some internet banks listed up top and I can try to find out more and post them later. Hedwig
Try your credit union. You may be able to explain the situation and still get the account.

Not sure if they are around here. The closest one is in Jersey about 60 some miles away from me in central MontCo. But if you just want to do online banking, there's no difference. And they may yet move into PA.
Magdalen77
There's an Allegiant Bank in KOP. And that list also says Citizens, they're all over the place.

Since I now have a mark with Checksystems will this stop them from giving me more accounts even though I already have one? Just what do you mean by a "mark"??? Is it a bounced check you never paid off, etc...
flacorps
Important thing to note here: When you order new checks for any reason, never order from Deluxe or Checks-in-the-mail or any other member of the Chex octopus of companies. They will tell your current bank about your chex record even if they're not a member of Chex (just a little free "service" they provide, wink wink--free heroin samples until the bank decides to become a paying customer). There are lists kicking around of who is and who is not safe to order from. hopefull
I owe $700+ to Citizens bank. From the line of credit on my account. I thought I could pay it off in time but I couldn't. I'll check out this list and see what I can find. Thanks everyone!

GREAT INFO!!!I just get mine from Commerce. The cheapies that have a picture of the bank building. I barely use checks anyway. Pretty much one per month to my landlord. VeVe
Citizens Bank won't let you open an account if you're in ChexSystems.Open a BOA checking account online. Whatever branch is near you will automatically be added as your "home" branch office.BOA is fee crazy though. I used to spend a lot of time in Europe and BOA nailed me with fees (and fees as a result of fees) like you wouldn't believe. I had never experienced anything like it. Needless to say I had to get rid of them, but they may work for you.

isislc
Bank of America DOES use Chexsystems and they also pull your EX report. Only way they ignore CS is if you already have a credit card with them. Many people on other forums have reported getting an account opened and then having it shut down within a couple of weeks for being on CS and NOT having the CC.
