LeslieR
Do you guys DV when you get a vm from a CA (no letter, no conversation, CA is not reporting [but did a soft pull last month])?
CloudX
I DV'd Focus on just a call alone. It was for a bank account from a few years ago, still within SOL, that they arent reporting on my credit. But I did a very nice DV since they arent reporting. That was a month ago and I have yet to hear from them. And still not on my report. Its for 200, so Im sure they dont really care all that much. Im not sure about California laws on DVs, but better to be safe then sorry is what I am thinking. Im sure the others will have something to say, but IMO I would DV. joanneb1253
I was having a JDB call me almost every night since last November. No written notice - nothing, but they called just about every day/night. They did not call Christmas or New Years Day. Gee.... Thanks.... I figured by ignoring them they would get the message. Not! This is one of their new tricks. They will continue to call until you actually talk to them. They will ask you to "verify" information, or worse, give your social security number to them as confirmation. (BTW - Don't ever do that for any one, any time, Period! By law you don't have to.)I sent a general C&D (FOAD) letter last week RRRM. I also faxed a written complaint to my state collection agency board seeing if I had any options. I told the state investigator that my debit is 8 years past the SOL in my state and the JDB had been calling for well over two months. The state investigator called the JDB and asked why they were calling. Yesterday I have proof of delivery that was signed by them last week. The phone has been quiet so far. Cross fingers. DV or C&D away. Worked for me this time.
redskinfan
I've DV'd on voice mail only and generally never hear from them again plus if they have not reported on my credit report at that time and they do after I DV them they are now in violation.
