freeatlastt
Does having Finance companies like American General on your credit report a bad thing? What I mean by that does it lower your score or does it look bad to credit places or loan officers who see your credit report?

Too much credit is looked at negatively.
freeatlastt
the reason I asked is because I have 2 on my report and im thinking of having them removed. They are all paid and over 4 years old. I have been trying to clean up my credit because i want to buy a home next year.
isislc
If they are paid and there is nothing wrong with them such as lates, etc, then don't do it. This will give you 4 yrs of age on your reports. If you dispute them off, you may kill your Fico score. Too much credit may be looked at negatively but not with closed accounts.
