mayormyk
I have 3 entries from 2 different CA's all collecting for Time Warner. One is listed as "2nd Month" and a complete entry in itself. All have different amounts.....I do not understand, I had cable in one name (mine), at one house (mine). How can they issue new account numbers to the same person???? and THEN enter it 3 times in 3 different entries! The CR comes back verified????I sent out DV's to the CA's and in another week it'll be 30 days and no response......Is this a new way of destroying someones credit. If their late, issue a new account number and report the old one. If their late again, issue another account number and report the old one?????? and so on.... Robert Nashville/Savannah
Have you actually talked to someone intelligent at the cable company about this to see if you can get some answers/some corrections from them (note that I did say intelligent)? This sounds to me to be more of a simple screw-up than a personal assault designed to mess with your credit history.Sometimes you need a 2X4 to get something accomplished but sometimes you just need a kind (or at least a cordial and direct) word.
mayormyk
I appreciate your thoughts Rob, your probably right. My first thought was that it was just them not giving a **it and entering things haphazardly. But your probably right, Im gonna call them now.....I'll post the results. rmuse00
Good Luck on the call! Here is my experience with Credit Protection. A time Warner showed up on my EQ CR, account for $500 or $600. Strange because from 1999 through 2005 I did not have cable (technically that is, place we lived at landlord had wired for cable so you can say it came with the apartment ) EQ showed this account delinquent in 2004. How could that be if during that timeframe I did not have cable in my name? I of course, DV, expecting it to be deleted since they could not possibily validate and add dispute with EQ for good measure. Results? VERIFIED! Kept my cool and DV'd CA's again!!! I was going to give them another chance. Disputed again with EQ too.....waiting....results? VERIFIED!! At this point, I decided to call Credit Protection and simply tell them to prepare themselves as I was going to file suit since they ignored 2 DV's and Verified twice with EQ. They asked me for my SS# and I, said "no way" but I did give them the account number they were reporting on my CR. Put me on hold and after a few minutes the rep on the phone is all apologetic, seems they had the wrong person all along. Same first and maiden name but not me. Of course I have to give it to her and say "I tried telling you that, do they purposely train you all on how to violate the FDCPA at your company? If you would have responded to ONE of two requests for validation you would have discovered that you were ruining the wrong person's credit report!" Within a couple of days I received a letter of apology and the TL did come off my report. Never lived anywhere near the address they had on record. :?They were so apologetic and promised to delete tradeline. I told them they had just saved themselves a law suit. I would have easily won given I had proof of their willful non-compliance. Not to mention I could have taken EQ down as well. But, all I really wanted was the TL that was not mine off my reports. So, my point is we have to do our homework and then do whatever we need to do, within our rights, to make sure we have given all the parties involved EVERY opportunity to correct their records. After that it's fair game. Hope it works out well!
