JAN9
Target is sueing me for $4,300.00 I am a victem of idenitty theift, a long time ago I had a target I think it was a visa or master card . I called target to tell them a charge was not right on my card , at that pointtarget said to me you will never have a target account with us , I was in shock . Oh yes I tryed to call them many times only to get the same answer. Now 2 years later I get this form in the mail saying I have to go to court on 2/8/2008. I did file an answer saying deny to all counts against me . I was told to do that from a legal aid lawyer. But they would not take the case. I then called the AKRON BAR ASSICIATION and went to see this lawyerthis guy called me a lier and he said I was feeding him a line of bull Sh--and slamed his hand down on the table . I said I have no reason to lie to you , and I did file a police report 3 different times about my IDENTITYTHEFT. I,TOLD THE LAWYER and showed him a letter from the courts , he then was so very rude to me he turned red in the face and neck and ordered me out of his office , I looked at him and said no problem as I gathered my papers up and I was trying to put my coat on , he then said screeming at me I told you get out now. Now I have no time to get a different attorney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I was told by others it was up to TARGET to prove the case , so I am left to go to court with out an attorney, what can I do ?Thank you jan
cuthatcard
Well, at least, you filed an answer to their compliant. I'd contact the BAR ASSOCIATION and report the Atty. for his/her behavior. Is this how the Bar wants its members to be seen by the public? What a BS Atty.. People, and Attys. are people, like this are what give Attys. the name they have!!!! I would have told him to KMA before leaving. I don't know how you stood it. How much worse could it be.Just keep posting here and maybe look elsewhere for an Atty. for consultation. Someone here will assit more than me. I am just so amazed at your post about the atty you saw. My God......this AH, I hope he finds himself setting in a jail like 3 high profile attys here in KY are in on 5 million dollar bonds for "alledgedly" cheating consumers on a Phen-Phen suit they had. (They are still in jail BTW::evil:You ought to see their pretty little "mug shots". They used to be on TV all the time advertising their services. The Federal Judge is slamming it on them. Your experience makes me hope that Atty and any other one acting like that gets a little justice their way..Sorry to rant, just upsets the hell out of me.... JAN9
Oh yes , I am and did report him !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I am not the type of person to go off on anyone , so this is what I did , as I let him call me a lier and go off on me as I was leaving I made sure his office people were in the lobby and I told him in a very calm voice You might think of takeing some anger managment classes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I learned this a long time ago , if I acted like he did and blew my top then he would have justified his actions Thank you Jan
kb9tbq
Did you fill out an ID Theft Affidavit, If you only filed the police report I would suggest that you also get the Affidavit from www.ftc.gov for your records. Is this item still on your credit report? I would activate a fraud alert if you have not already done so.I would also suggest filing a complaint with the FTC you can also contact your attorney general's office and file a complaint with them. rmiller0410
I am from this area and I have connections with the Summit county so if you send me some info I will see what you need to do about this attorney. As for not having an attorney ask for a continuance. You must do this quickly. Also if you have filed a police report and id affidavit you may submit this as evidence.
