Setting up payment plan with BOA

Well I just received a pm from somebody that had the same deal that BOA offered me. Turns out that BOA got low down and dirty and reneged on their agreement - took more money than agreed upon from the person's checking account , and continued with late fees and overlimit fees .

BOA - :roll::roll::roll:

I would ask them to follow up with a letter detailing the terms of the agreement on their letterhead with an authorized signature.

I spoke to them Wednesday evening and asked for the plan in writing.They said they would send it to me the next day at their expense.I'm still waiting.

The person who pm'd me said there 60 month plan was in writing and BOA still screwed them.

WHATEVER you do do NOT hand over your banking info.. if you need to pay them by check you open an account with the amount to cover the payment and thats it.. a different bank ONLY to pay this.. and in writing is nice but once they take it out your in it deep to get it back.. so insist on mailing the check NOT an automatic draft

call your CSR at BofA. My experience with them has always been good. I've never seen a problem with them going backwards on a deal. They make paperwork or processing mistakes more often than some other banks and it can be a pain to deal with to get it fixed, but they always have.

I agree with CBE -- set up a new bank account and use it solely for your payments to BofA. They are probably going to insist on drafting the payments -- and truthfully, you can't blame them -- if you are in default today it was because you had a lousy pay history (reasons for such aside) and they want more control. Any bank is going to take that position and I would treat any bank this same way.

I cannot explain the experience of the person who sent you the PM. It is clearly at sharp variance from my experience. I am hesitant to cast doubt when I don't know the full story -- but my guess is there is more to the story than you have been told.
