Who said "yes", who said "no"

Recommended Posts

I'm (temporarily) done applying at places. Since I intend to go house hunting in about 5 or 6 months, I'm just going to let my new accounts age. I hope I can be strong and resist the temptation.

Here are the results.

They said "Yes":D

BP/Chase Visa $1000

Hooters MC $1000

Juniper B & N MC $900

Kay Jewlers $3000

Wal-Mart $300

Target $200

Jared's $3000

Cap One Visa $500

HSBC MC $500

Raymour & Flanigan $3000

Dell $1500

Circuit City $1000

They said "no" :(

Juniper Lukoil MC

Chase Amazon MC

Sears

Discover Open Road

Lane Bryant

Citi Bank Shell MC

Citi Bank Sunoco MC

AMEX

National City Bank Visa

GEMB Lowe's

Citi Bank Home Depot

Offered me a secured card

Bank of America

WaMu

I don't know yet

PNC Bank Visa

Pulaski Bank Visa

Roaman's

PNC I suspect will say not only "no", but "Hell, NO" and Pulaski, I'm not sure, they asked me to fax my most recent check stub to their underwriting department. That seemed hopeful.

For anyone who's keeping score, at the time I had scores of TU 620-635, EX 595-607 and EQ 643-656. It was over a extended period of time from December 14th until last night and I obviously don't know what the scores were when the companies pulled the CR.

After six months or so, you may want to consider dumping the toy cards under $1000 and request CLI's for the others.

I've heard that you can get CLI on Wal-Mart, Target, HSBC and Cap One. I'm using the HSBC and Cap One cards so I have a shot at that. But the other ones, the store cards, well, I have a hard time going into the store and buying stuff just so I can get usage. I'm also limited by the fact that I'm living in a 1 bedroom apt with my DF (a situation hopefully corrected in 6 months or so). There's only so much crap I can buy.

Congrats on the new cards :BigDance:

Thought I'd add what i did in the last month...

Unlike Some Companies, We Won't Increase Your APRs Simply Because:

Congratulations Mag. Now you are loaded up on credit. Sit back, manage your cards, and let them age. Your scores may fluctuate month to month, but they will trend up!

Yeah, I need to keep from applying anymore. I don't have the time or inclination to use all the ones that I have.

The one that I've been using the heck out of is the BP/Chase because of the double cash rebates for the first 60 days. After that I'm going to scale back on that. I might use the Cap One quite a bit, due to the 0% through July. After that, not so much.

Nah, I haven't bought anything, no room and I'm really trying to behave myself. I wonder if the credit offer expires after a time??

IMHO, mostly R & F is overpriced, but sometimes you can find good sales.

Oh, I forgot that I applied for iTunes, I'm still waiting on that. The problem with bumping and disputing inquiries is that you forget who you applied for.;)

u will be waiting for a while, I tried to call because they said they needed something faxed in or whatever, well that letter never came little commies

Yeah, I just checked again. There is no decision yet, Apple does not know why. I will get a letter in 7 to 10 days. That's the same message I've been seeing for, uh, maybe 12 days. Oh well, maybe I'll get a letter some time. Fortunately that query already b* off TU, so no loss.

hey do this, go to juniper.com and check the status, there is a place where u can see the decision check it out! It may be a we need more info.... check it out and get back with us MAGS

That's where I checked. Apple dumps you into the Juniper site. Dang. I'm not feeling too optimistic about this. I guess I really need to take the hint and quit applying for a while.

One thing that's really cool is that some of the cards that I got at the end of December already have two months of "history" on them. So only four more months until they start helping my credit report.

Actually, I haven't found out that the new credit lines have cut my scores too much. Maybe 10 points less, but then I disputed and bumped the inquiries and that balanced things out.
