tonypilot7
I just requested rehab paperwork from ECMC on a defaulted student loan I have had in default for 3 years. The rep assigned to my account said that after 9 months, my loan would be purchased and serviced by AES. I recall reading Horror stories about this company. Does anyone have advice for dealing with them? I might consolidate or pay them off after the rehab is finished just so I dont have to deal with them. tonypilot7
ECMC was surprisingly cordial when I spoke to them on the phone, still waiting for paperwork. I read that AES has issues with reporting accurately and on time. If this is the case, then after I refi at the end of my 9 months, will I have problems with AES reporting paid as agreed? I guess I'm letting my imagination get the best of me but I wish that I could have a different note buyer instead of AEG.Is it possible to request a different end buyer or is it ECMC's discretion? tonypilot7
So ECMC has the resposibility to withdraw all the negs and report paid in full no lates as soon as I complete the 9 month stretch... That makes me feel better about this process. So AES must have been the highest bidder for my loan. Thanks LynnTonyBTW: do you have to have a certain # of posts to be able to upload an animated avatar? I couldn't get mine to upload for some reason. The size and pixels were within limits... just curious
hollypicklefox
I have been working towards rehab with ECMC for the last four months. So far they've been as pleasant and helpful as you could hope for. I've not had many positive experiences working with debt collectors, but the rep handling my account at ECMC has always been courteous and professional, and ready to answer all of my questions. That was true before I signed up for rehab and it's true now, four months in. Now, whether or not that will still be true in another 5 months when it's time for my loan to be resold, I'll have to let you know.I've heard mostly good feedback about rehab with ECMC. I'm dealing with another CA right now hoping to rehab and they have been horrible thus far, so by comparison - I consider myself lucky to have at least one CA handling my loans that seems to be decent. tonypilot7
My loan was placed with an attorney for collection in Oregon where I was living at the time. I remember getting several nasty dunning letters from them. I have already removed the attorney listing from my reports. I think ECMC pulled the account back when they realized that I had moved.
