Original creditor reporting on a charged off debt?

While I can understand why you don't like the reporting, I dont' see what the problem is???

As long as the reporting is accurate, they have the right to report, even evey month and so long as your credit/loan/wathever agreement allows is, the amount owed can keep changing/increasing as well.

I would encourage you to try and get this settled with the OC before you hace to start dealing with a CA/JDB.

Just to add...."charge off" is just an accounting term. It doesn't mean anything for you. They still own, you still owe it, they can still charge penalty and interest, and they can still try to collect.

Once it turns to "charge off / sold to another lender"....then...their balance should go to $0, and they'll stop reporting. Then...you'll hear from some junk debt buyer.
