I'm not sure where the best place is to post this...

I desperately want to pay my car off. I can afford the monthly payment, but I am just looking forward to NOT having a car payment when finally have a house payment.

My fiancee will be deploying to Iraq in the fall. While he is gone, he will bringing home triple what he makes now. So, we want to save to buy a house while I simultaneously fix my credit.

What is the best way to pay off the car loan w/o hurting my score? 2 payments a month?

I understand the payment concern, but have a current paying installment loan in good standing is better to your score than an aging paid/closed loan IMHO.

Plus the extra cash you will have for the down payment (if you don't pay the truck) will bring you closer to avoiding the PITI insurance if you get 20% down.
