How to check your kids report for fraud

Recommended Posts

I was on the treadmill at the gym reading a magazine and came across this:

Send an email to childidtheft@transunion.com and they will check for free if your child has any activity/report. It did not say what to include in email so im going to send a general email and ask about it first. Just to be safe. The info was in Family mag (feb 08)

Heres the response i received.

If you wish to learn if a credit file currently exists for your minor child, please call our Fraud Victim Assistance Department at (800) 680-7289. When you call make sure to have this nine digit file identification number, #xxxxxxxxx, that will allow you to speak to one of our customer service representatives.

The recording will ask for your zip code. After saying or typing it in, listen to the prompts. Press 2 for an agent & enter the FILE number provided above.

Thank you,
