AVA
In 04 I was 90 days late with Dillards (Dept Store) after speaking with them I arranged payment and credit was up & running like never before but now in 2008 they keep reporting my lateness and yes I was late and yes it was my fault but what now?? How do I get them to clear that out? I haven't been late since and they have since increased my limit but I still show them as an Adverse Account on Credit Report. Any ideas? Any??Has anybody cleared up old stuff or had old stuff removed while keeping the good stuff?Very new at this.
BTO429
Call them and ask them to change it if they dont dispute with the CRA
Happy
You probably don't need to do anything. Since it is over 3 years old it probably isn't affecting your score very much anyway. And if you have been on time ever since, that is what anyone would look at anyway. AVA
I've disputed with the CRA and no luck still on there. Called them & they told me there was nothing they can do - they don't handle that and gave me an address to mail Credit Disputes to for Dillards. I'm going to try and write the most heartbreaking letter on earth - maybe that will work?Has anyone ever tried this? And actually have it work??? mycorrado
many times!!!A polite 'goodwill' letter to the *right* address will likely do. There are some samples here. Mentioned you have never been late since. Also, did you validate online? Try writing a dispute and if they still validate request MOV. I doubt Dillards has record going back 4 years.mycorrado

LeslieR
AVA I've seen several posts from you on here about the issue of getting lates deleted. Please understand that despite your making good on accounts eventually, that creditors aren't under any obligation to remove lates from your reports. I used to think that once you were current, your report was clean. That's not the case. Do a bit of reading in the stickies on these boards for your options at this time. But also realize that old lates aren't damaging you much and focus on staying current with everything you have open now.
AVA
Will do - thanks.I just dream of having my Reports clean. One day.Thank you so much. I have sent Dillards a good will letter and hope they feel so sorry for me they remove it those past due for 4 years ago.I'll keep reading these threads - they are so helpful. Thanks everyone.
