Almost in tears...Going to be soon...

Sorry to vent.

I'm just beside myself because I spent twelve hundred dollars on a new computer and I can't even create a damn resume.

It's windows vista and came with microsoft works as opposed to office.

There is no where in a word document where you can adjust the margins on the side for height. In office you usually have a ruler on top, and a ruler on the side-very simple.

I can't believe I threw my money in the garbage like that.

Try View/Rulers - you might get your missing toolbars.

Target carries a student/education version of Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc.) for around $100. I would lose Works as soon as you can.

Also, make sure you download the update that came out this week for Vista. My system really got speedy after I did so.

You can also go out on the net and find word. There was a free trial available.

This is the new word, the icky one, but it would last long enough for the resume.I think at least a month. When it expires you can still view the new type of word docs too.

Check for it here:

You may want to look into "Open Office" which is specifically for people who aren't too happy with anything Microsoft puts out.
