16 Out of 18 EX Inquiries removed!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I posted this in another thread, but wanted this in it's own as well so that others might see it too. Getting INQs off from EX is totally possible! I did it by doing the steps below:

Out of 18 INQs, I got 16 DELETED!!!

The 2 that remain are from the pulls that gave me the credit (HSBC and MACYS). The other 16 are gone. (Note: You might need to put a Fraud Alert on your report to get this done...I had to ask for the Fraud Department and they put me through Special Handling)

It was implied that my inquiries were put up due to fraud...because I did place a fraud alert on all three, I think this is why this flew.

1) Get the Experian report number that comes from your Experian credit report. You will need that to get through the phone system.

2) Call 1-800-493-1058

3) Input the number you found in step 1 and your last four of your social security number

4) Immediately say agent

5) Wait for CSR to come on

6) Ask to be transferred to Fraud Department (Special Handling) due to INQs put up due to fraud

7) Explain to CSR #2 that you might have had INQs put up due to fraud.

8) She will ask you which one one by one...just run down the list. You can try to put INQs that are attached to TLs on your report, but most likely it won't fly.

Pulled my TC and CIP today...while CIP still showed 18 (I pulled that one first), TC showed 2 EXP INQs! MAN, I LOVE THIS SITE!! If you follow this exactly, you may get those Experian INQs removed. It worked for me.

Please hook me up with some green bars if this works for you. (Or thanks will be cool too).

Congrats! I actually had a little luck just writting a letter disputing inquires and actually got my AMEX inquiry deleted before AMEX posted the account to my credit report.

In the beginning before I found this site, I tried letter writing, and it didn't work (with EX and TU but it did with EQ). Then the faxes. I actually called them today with the intent on seeing if they got my fax. They were saying that they don't have to accept faxes.

With TU/EX/EQ, it's 2/2/9 on the INQs. Not worried about EQ because I know they'll be gone soon when I bother to start. MY EX FAKO jumped close to 19 points though with all those inqs gone though! I'm dying to see what my EX FICO is....have to fight myself not to do it.

I've reead of the boards that addng a fraud alert can drop your scores quite dramatically. Is this true?

Nope. Not true at all. Like AA says if anything they've gone higher due to being able to dispute inquiries and for me, just with other stuff dropping off my reports due to disputes (I think that those would have happened regardless of the FA).

The only things the FAs really hurt is that some CCs will deny you without consideration because you have and FA. Most will actually send you a letter asking for verification of some sort. But they are right, it doesn't hurt your scores.

tried this today..no CSR was available to take my call (apparently I called too late). Will try again tomorrow. I do have a genuine, "legitimate" FA on my reports...hope this works.

EDIT: Called today, spoke wiht a lady with a bug up her butt, she wouldn't remove several (a CA inquiry, 3 BofA inqs, or inqs attached to current TLs I didnt even try and dispute)...but she corrected several address variations and took the info on 7 inquiries....here's hoping. Shels supposed to email me the results...

I called today too. Was only able to dispute 3 inqs out of 9 because they weren't attached to anything but denials, 2 were verified previously and the others attached to TLs. Tried to backdoor EX to take a peek and the inqs I disputed aren't showing up highlighted like they did last time I disputed them. The TL with the BK is showing up correctly though that I included. I'm supposed to get an email too but will just back door later tonight and see if it updates. The last time I did this, the updates were ready by 5am est.

Yeah, from what I discovered in the last dispute, if you have an update the change is reflected right away. If you have a delete, takes time for it to update in the system and will usually be highlighted in some fashion when you look at it. This time my inqs weren't highlighted so I'm wondering if they will even be deleted this time.

**Update**

Sure enough, the bastards updated the TL as IIBK but they never did anything about the inqs. I wonder if I should call again tomorrow and see if I get a different person and what she will do.

It doesn't have to be YMMV. If you get a CSR (or as I affectionally call them, "phone monkey" :) ) that you don't like, just call after 1-2 days have passed and get another one. I doubt they keep good phone logs.

Good luck you guys.

BTW, I have personally found the EX backdoor to be very realtime. I've been using the same report number I got a year ago, and have noticed immediate changes during the day (something I expected to go).

What about disputing inquiries by mail to the big three?

How do TU, EX, and EQ respond if you just sent in a letter stating you did not authorize selected inquiries?

I have not tried this yet, because I didn't think it would work. Does it?

Preface, this is from the past TWO years. With the bumping process I did this:

EQ: 56 Inquiries down to 35 so far

TU: 26 Inquiries down to 11 so far

I've let TU bump and I've used the online form for EQ. But, I have disputed my EX inquiries by mail. I do have a 7 year FA on my CRs, so I'm sure that helped. I got 15 out of 27 (or there abouts) removed. Of course now I'm back up in the 20s again due to all the credit unions I've joined using %^$%^$ Experian to verify my ID prior to opening an account. Why, pray tell, can't they use Chexsystems???

Unfortunately for me, I have to go through CSC.

I opened an account at a credit union, but they pull EQ, and use Telecheck. For me they only pulled EQ because I did a refi with them and got a CC too.

Did you have identity theft or is the FA on there for some other reason?

Verify your ID? Normally those are soft pulls. When Sovereign wanted to verify my identityfor my Bill Pay they pulled from EX to get the questions to ask me, but they were soft pulls. Normally those type of INQs are soft.

You sure the CUs didn't pull them hard to offer you a credit card or something? Every time I got an ID thing like that, my report always said it was soft.

well sure enough every INQ they investigated was removed! But the lady did tell me i neeeded to go thru BofA for 3 of their 4 inqs, but I'll call them back on monday and get someone else :p

Hook me up with some reputation then  .....you're a post whore...I'm a green box pimp [in training....].:lol:

In all seriousness, I'm glad you were able to get them off. EX seemed like it was impossible to get rid of INQs from what I read.
